Proposed Group Starting Point - The "Church Hit Squad&qIt seems a number of people have expressed an interest in the church hit squad as it would allow for a variety of characters from goodies to outright evil as well as provide some good internal RP.
So, I am going to propose a possible, and I emphasize the word possible starting point.
Lyssira's younger sister, Tanami was once involved with a warlock of Stormwind by the name of Asinia. It was a nasty affair which left Tanami permanently scarred, both physically and emotionally. When she heard, Lyssira was outraged by what had happened to her sister Tanami, the gentle paladin.
Lyssira sought the council of the priesthood of the Cathedral of Light. After she told her story she was directed to another priest who, after hearing Lyssira's story, was assured that her problem would be resolved to Lyssira's satisfaction and to Tanami's ultimate betterment.
Lyssira expressed her relief that such could be handled so easily and the priest said, "You seem a good and lawful woman Lyssira, but you know, such problems arise from time to time. Somewhere in Stormwind, someone will receive instructions and your problem will go away. Now, perhaps you would like to help others in the same way as you are being helped now? And then he outlined what he had in mind, about the secret organization he represented.
Let's say that Lyssira accepted his offer. Now, when something needs to be done, Lyssira will receive an anonymous note with a distinctive seal that she knows to expect. When she is not on a "job" she does whatever she wishes.
Let me further propose that perhaps others have had similar encounters with a priest who made a similar proposal. And still others may be quietly recruited.
Interestingly enough, if Lyssira were to recruit someone, she would know that person's identity. On the other hand, if someone were recruited by the priesthood it might be some time before those two realized they worked for the same organization.
So, what do you all think? And I want to hear both the positive and the negative. This is only a proposal at this point.
Also, anyone with their own proposal is welcome to post it in their own thread.

I love it!
Pure genious, Lyssira.

This definitely sounds like a good starting point. I vote in favor!

I'm in favor of this idea. I'm not sure exactly how my specific character will fit in just yet. But I'm sure as I play her something will work itself out.

This could work for my character too, just have him recruited by <insert guild/organization official here> as a child, when I wanted him to get recruited by the guild that we wouild do, though I want to see what else we can come up with.

Sounds great, remind me a lot of Mission: Impossible, the way you get the letter (they get a tape or something), you're not technically on a job (they seem kind of freelance), and the whole thing is secret. Love it!

It would work for my character too. I vote in favor. Where are we going to meet though?

The crypt under the Cathedral might be a good place.

Brenry, I'm not sure if you meant where to meet once we are a group or where to meet while we are discovering our "common ground".
For the first, under the Cathedral would be a good choice, or in the basement of a tavern maybe? For the second, I would guess in the various taverns around Stormwind and Ironforge, especially, I think, in one of the player run taverns. Nothing beats a crowded room for discussing something secret. I'm not nearly as familiar with the other alliance capitals, which is why I did not mention them, but I am sure there are meeting places for our "discovery" in those as well.

Lets do this: someone go scout out a few locations and report back here, then we can meet there at a chosen time.

I think for the first "encounter" I'd definitely have to vote for the crypt under the Cathedral. After that I wouldn't restrict the meetings to major cities. There are plenty of interesting locations that would make an ideal super secret meeting place.

Talked to Lyss in game and she told me that we will meet in the Pig and Whistle in Old Town on Friday night.

Sweet, what time so that I can level my character up enough to have excess cash to "happen" to walk in to the tavern.

I'm not sure this should be a meeting exactly, but more of a chance encounter for some. Anyone might find themselves in a tavern at some point for a drink, food, or just to relax and socialize.
In the case of Lyssira and Brenry, these two already suspect that they are unknowingly working for the same organization and have decided to "compare notes" at the Pig and Whistle on Friday at about 9:30pm (server time). Either one may have other chance encounters between now and that planned meeting and may invite them along as well, and others may just show up in need of a drink or some such.
If anyone showed up before or after the time Lyss and Brenry planned, that's fine too.
Note: In fact, I may not be online by 9:30, it may be a bit later. Depends on dinner conversation and that sort of thing.

Missed the "get together" cause my internet stopped working an hour before it started... It came back on a few minutes ago.

Gonna have to be quick at the meeting on Monday, I have to go finish up Karazhan, so I may only be on Brenry for 10 to 15 minutes. But I will be there!

I'm not sure that anything was planned for Monday. Brother Eto got so caught up in his research that he missed Sunday's meeting at the Abbey.
Lyssira suggested as she was unavoidably detained both today and tomorrow that they plan to meet on Wednesday at the Abbey.
We'll see what happens.

Reply if you are going to go to the meeting on Wednesday.

I just checked, Lyssira has a message from Brother Eto confirming her suggestion of Wednesday night to meet at Northshire Abbey.

Sorry, I am not going to be able to play a lot this month, exams and all. I might be able to play a bit on weekends, though.

Crap!!! I have an essay to do, so I most likely won't be able to get to the meeting...
Please say that you heard that I was captured by some gnolls or kobolds or something. Seems like I am captured a lot though... Come up with a good story for my absence.

Proposed Storyline ..Many apologies for having missed the meeting. Not sure what was happening last night, as my significant other's account seemed fine, but my connection seemed limited. Might have been the snow and the wireless.
As far as what I was proposing, I worked it out in a way that might entice those who stay connected to Lyssira. I've got characters all over the place on MG, and in some way or another, they've all been working towards the events that you people are creating on these forums. I just want to make it clear that if Lyssira shows you guys what I've been sending her, either directly or indirectly, that she has had NOTHING to do with it.
Many players base storylines around themselves, and I hate that. Lyssira has - in her own way - taken on a leadership role in this project, but she's all about everyone else in the game, and it's in the game that I am proposing the storyline that she might choose to reveal to you. It's up to her. She might be too humble to take the responsibility my "research" has forced upon her. I sincerely hope she isn't, but please, even if this makes you curious, don't push her for anything your characters wouldn't push for. If she goes with it, she goes with it.
Have fun!

ummm. Yeah, I missed the meeting. I will say I was captured by the Defias or something. If you want, you can come "save" me... then help me power level in the instance. I know a secret about leveling. If a very high level person puts a DoT on a mob, then runs out of the instance, the lowbie will receive all the exp for the kill. I have seen people level characters to 70 in under a week with this method.

When I missed the first meeting, I sent a letter to Lyss saying that I was captured by the Defias. They have a problem with the shorties.

Looks like Friday will be the next chancee to have the meeting with Brother Eto. Thursdays never work for me RP-wise.

Is it too late to get in on this?Hi. I just wanted to say that I really really loved this idea and was wondering if it was too late for me to get in on it. I'm a 44 human paladin on Moon Guard and have gotten tired of my anti-social style of play lately. I could really see my character being involved with something like this. I'm kind of an amateur roleplayer but have thoroghly enjoyed what little experiences I've had. Waddya say? Can I play too?
Also thought a cool guild name for a church hit squad would be "Lights Out"

Welcome Konael!
It is absolutley NOT too late to get in on this. The way we are structured, new people can join at any time and not be left out or left behind.
If you are interested in the Hit Squad, you might be getting a letter from Agent Darkstár soon. If you follow the instructions he gives you then you will be considered part of the squad. But that won't mean that you will automatically "know" everyone else who is a member. Even though OOC I help to coordinate things regarding the squad, IC, even Lyssira is not aware of all of the other members.
Oh, and once the shadowy leader has assembled all of the components for a very special potion (read poison) he will have an important assignment for one or more members as well.
Stay tuned.

Gahhh, I haven't been able to play for a while...
That and I'm not very fond of my little rouge, I'll make a dwarf hunter, when I have a name I'll let you all know. Thinking of some sort of word play off of Dionysus - really crazy guy that loved beer.
Thus it's very early some mornings, or only weekends, if I can...
