A Message to the GeneralSooo what's this?
http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com...html?topicId=6884798571&sid=1
If this is something cannon in regards to our storyline then I'm starting an official discuss/decode the letter thread now!
The Mortals have been freed of their Souls.
?
The Followers have been removed from their Hidden Path.
Eto's order was known as the Followers of the Hidden Path, and recently Eto has been murdered. Perhaps other members of the secret order are in danger as well? The order was started by the nelves I believe, and this message was found attached to a night elf head.
The General knows her Defender.
Lyssira is the general, and clearly she's found her Defender. According to the prophecy her right hand man. This could be Consadine, as The Lost Portent seems to hint that their fates are intertwined.
The Protector has become the Destroyer.
Possible reference to the Cathedral, the Church of the Light isn't quite as churchy as they seem. Could also be evidence of a betrayal in the foreseeable future.
The Dark Star is revealed by the Covenant of Light.
Obvious reference to Darkstar, perhaps he is a villain after all and the Covenant will break away from his grasp and bring him down.
This is the Potential Lost.
The last portent is also known as the Lost Portent, which sounds like what they're talking about, but it says Potential so...
General Lyssira Smithford, you have been marked by the Exiled of Drak'thul. We will not rest until you cease to dream. We will not sleep until you never awaken. By the blood of Drak'thul, we so swear. You are marked by the Black Tabard. The war begins. We are coming.
The prophecy said it would be mortals who would threaten the General, and not the "Enemy" (the Legion most probably)

No responses? No one else thinks this development is interesting?

Brenry

The Protector has become the Destroyer.
I believe this may be a reference to Brenry since he was a guard/soldier in Gnomeregan, but ended up killing some people and now kills a lot.

Onaron

I think this is very interesting! A very engaging development indeed. I will ponder a way (if there is one) for Onaron to become involved. We will see.

Lyssira

*pants*
I'm finally able to slow down enough to respond.
I have to say, when I first read the thread I had a slight feeling of unreality pass over me. I was really blown away by this development.
I do not understand many of the assertions made but I would be pretty sure that Lyssira's defender is Consadine. And Brenry could well be right about the protector turned destroyer, that fits.
As I read it, Illiana and the rest of the Hidden Path followers may already be dead. If they are not then they are indeed in grave danger and probably in hiding.
And speaking of grave danger... I wonder if Lyssira and Consadine are ready to take on an army? Or does another part of the prophesy apply here, that an army will gather around The General?
I'd need to look at a message Lyss received ingame, but there was something about a broken sword as well, and I may be mistaken, but I thought the protector would be known by it. I'll need to check on that one.

If I am to be the Destroyer, which side am I on?

Please have Onaron get involved!!! He is awesome to RP with.

I'm glad for your support, Brenry - I'm enjoying our adventures very much I though that perhaps my slow pace would become frustrating.
In any case, if there becomes a way to insert my character into this plot line, I will try to do so, but I wouldn't want to force anything. We'll see how it flows and I'll be following it with a keen interest.

It does get a little tiresome walking all over the place, but I still enjoy RPing with you.
|
Lyssira
|
Hmmm,
I've looked at the messages I have received ingame again. It seems Lyssira will know her Defender by two signs, neither of which she has seen. Perhaps this means that Consadine is not the Defender of the prophesy, or it means that we just need to let the plot play out a bit further.
I'm not sure when I will find time for this exactly, but I plan to have a post in the Lost Portent RP thread where Lyssira re-reads all of the messages she has received. For those who wish to help in unraveling this mystery those messages may hold a key or two that I have missed up 'til now.

A possibility for Onaron could be that while he is using a new way, the elements, to combat the Legion. Also, he is an alchemist, so he could be a supplier of potions.
Just some options that are off the top of my head. I'm sure there are better ways for Onaron to get into the story.
|
Lyssira
|
An alchemist?
In that case, Darkstar makes use of a particular poison that is sort of a trademark. Perhaps he needs a new source of supply for some or all of the ingredients.
Similarly, Xaiden was part of the original Covenant of Light before the group disbanded. He knows how to make (or knows someone who knows how to make) the antidote for Darkstar's signature poison. So there is a second possible inroad.
Either of these might be useful for getting some initial involvement. Since Brenry is the person most familiar with Onaron, perhaps he will mention his abilities to Darkstar or Xaiden?

I was actually in the process of describing Onaron to Darkstar after I signed the charter when my internet quit on me...
|
Consadine
|
I must agree...My intent was not to have Consadine fill the role of the defender. My reasoning for this is both IC and OOC. OOC I am moving from Cali to Illinois in a month, and changing jobs, so being at the heart of the story would not be condusive to it's success. IC, Consadine is a holy man and as stated in his post in the The Lost Portent (http://moonguardfirp.myfreeforum.org/about29.html) he is to play the role of advisor and healer. A panacea is a remedy from all ills or difficulties. Additionally, he is a knight errant (in the sense of a traveller), so he is available to her (and Darkstar) to perform quests or missions as they see fit.
My intent from the first meeting with Lyss was just to convey to her that she was not alone and that the Light was truly with her (since she also openly stated she was a follower) in the form of a paladin willing to see her to the end or die trying.
So, as a player I am purposely taking secondary and outsider roles until my personal situation stabalizes. Hopfully this helps some other players come out of the shadows to get involved, and help clear the playing field for those afraid they were stepping on toes.

The 'potions and poisons advisor' perhaps sits the most easily for Onaron. He'd like the idea of putting his studies to good use. That said, like Consadine, he could not become a central figure in the story. IC he is not looking to get drawn in over his head in anything - especilly for an organisation he knows basically nothing about. OOC, seeing as we work in vastly different time zones, and with more shifts coming up in work, I wouldn't want to hold you guys up.
Again, it looks great though! Kudos to those putting it together.

| Quote: | | The Mortals have been freed of their Souls. |
I still find this line perplexing. In the new rp posted by Brother Eto he says,
| Quote: | | Beware the Mortals without Souls. They are preparing to unleash a grave attack on the land. |
I'm honestly lost on this one. Any ideas?
| Quote: | | It seems Lyssira will know her Defender by two signs, neither of which she has seen. Perhaps this means that Consadine is not the Defender of the prophesy, or it means that we just need to let the plot play out a bit further. |
What be these signs?
|
Lyssira
|
I initially held off on revealing the signs because I thought The Defender would be an individual. Mow, Eto's wraith has me thinking that The Defender may be The Covenant of Light.
The signs are, "You will know The Defender has returned by the finding of his broken sword. You will know that The Defender fights again by the heralds of The Great Forum. You will know that The Defender rides again byt the thunder of the hooves of his great horse, Astanax."
Thinking (too literally, this is prophesy after all) that The Defender would be an individual I was looking for someone to reveal a broken sword for starters, and then that he has a horse with the name Astanax.
Reading Eto's Wraith piece with that info it becomes much easier to piece things together that The Covenant is The Defender. It also soeems like the forming of the Covenant is pretty key to Lyssira's survival.

Then we better get this thing formed!

I already have about 125g and am revered with SW. I can get to exalted and then name a horse Astanax if you want...I was planning on getting a horse anyway.
Edit** Ding 30! Now I can hang with Lyssira!

Taken figuratively, Astanax, could be the backbone of the Covenant... Just my 2 copper.
