I’m sad to see you go Lyssira. You’ve put together a fabulous community and story, and things won’t be the same without you. I totally understand your position though, and so I wish you luck.

I think that everyone who’s been involved with this does not want to see it go to waste, and so this is a critical point, and we must act fast. If we don’t then we don’t have a chance of keeping things going. The story developments have been the attraction, and so now that Lyssira is gone, and there aren’t going to be any new plot developments any time soon people will start loosing interest.

From this point I can see four different scenarios occurring:

1. Everything that we’ve worked at so far collapses and we all go our separate ways. This unfortunately is what is most likely to occur unless we get organized fast.

2. We attempt to continue the General story track. I advise against this, as anything we do could not possibly compare to what would happen if Lyssira was still involved.

3. We attempt to bring the General story track to a close. We somehow end the story and start up a new one. This would probably involve Lyssira dying, or going missing. This I would also advise against, as we built up the General’s importance to a point where she was basically destined save the mortal races, and to loose her, but not die wouldn’t sit right with me. There would be a lot of unresolved conflicts, and the whole thing would be a mess.

(And finally what I strongly suggest.)

4. We start over again, while putting the General story track on pause. What I mean by this is that we either:

a. Halt all events concerning the General. We would not role-play it or even reference it, in essence pausing it, keeping it on the sidelines until the day comes when Lyssira returns (If she does).

b. Role-play in the game that Lyssira has gone missing, it’s a dark day for everyone, blah blah blah, and then keep it on the sidelines until Lyssira returns.

Once we’ve preserved our work we create a new story, a new site, new characters, etc. We get the basic plot of our new FIRP down, make sure it is feasible, and write it all out. Once we’ve got ourselves a nice little story going we begin the recruiting process just as Lyssira did when this began.

I’m casting my vote for number four, as I think it allows us to continue our FIRPing with each other, keeps us from mutilating what we’ve worked on so far with a bad ending, and gives us the chance to involve lots more people. We’re definitely not going to attract any newcomers if we desperately try to salvage the General story line, and I think that more people is the only thing that’s going to keep this going.

What does everybody think?

Number four makes the most sense to me.  And I really don't want to see all that work wasted.

Even though I wasn't directly involved with the General storyline, I'd put my two copper in for option 4b, as it not only halts that storyline in a plausible way, but it may also kick start other story lines for some, or all of you.

Only problem I have at the mement is that my storyline overlapped, or was planned to overlap, basically every storyline that we have here.  Thus I cannot play Aed...

Maybe I could be the General...

We could interpret the prophecy differently and make someone else the General. The likely candidates would be Aedrean and Brenry. The only problem with me being the leader is that I am joining the Air Force soon and will be on WoW hiatus for a couple months. But before I go in, I plan on killing Brenry during an attack in the Plaguelands, just to rise up as the Death Knight. Twisted Evil

We need to vote on what to do... I am opening a poll.

If Brenry's how would he be the general?

Just saying, I don't have to, or want to really.

Whoops, forgot insane.  We don't even have to have a new general, we could just loose the existing one at a critical juncture.
