Your sleep is restless, and fitfull ... with good reason. The General has gone missing. The Covenant of the Light is in dire need of a leader. All around you, events are rife with confusion, mystery and deception. It doesn't make for a peaceful repose.
Slowly, your dreaming begins to take on a life of it's own. By now you're familiar with it: the swirling images, the colors both dull and vibrant. You see yourself soaring over hills and valleys, over vast waters and high mountains. As you slow, your surroundings seem to clarify, and you descend lightly into a glade surrounded by ancient trees. In the center of the glade, there is the same phantom you saw before - Brother Eto - slightly more translucent this time, with a touch of green glowing from him. He turns his bald head and smiles warmly at you, and any fears you might have held melt away as you sense this place is secure. The wraith speaks to you with zephyr-sounding tones.
"Greetings again, my friends. I am sorry to have disturbed your much needed rests, but I have been informed I only have one shot at this, and I thought it best to make good on a night that I have all of you together.
"Be true to your Path. There are no other words I can offer you in encouragement. Everything happens for a reason, and it is important to see the potential in every circumstance, from the mundane to the monumental. There is no wrong way to follow if you are true to your Path, my brothers and sisters. Search your heart, and know what I tell you is true.
"Your time in the Eastern Kingdoms draws to a close. The Mortals Without Souls are preparing to unleash a devastating weapon on it's peoples. We cannot allow this to pass, but in order to confront this weapon, we need a weapon of our own. Where their's is Darkness, ours will be Light. But look not yet to the swords of Stormwind, brothers and sisters. Look instead to the West, across the great sea, and to the lands of Kalimdor. It is there that you will find your weapon.
"I must leave you now. My work is almost done, with but one more task to do, and I've been blessed to have been allowed to do so. Your first steps on the New Path must be to build an army, brothers and sisters. The General will come, the Prophecy will come to pass, but it will not happen without the labors of those who will be swept up in it's passing. Seek out a man by the name of Llalthaeron. He is young, arrogant and hot tempered ... but a finer sword you'll never see wielded, provided he lives long enough to show all of you. Your army starts with him. Be true."
You watch as Eto smiles and slowly begins to fade. He turns from you, facing a growing nimbus of green light, and casts one glance back at you. He winks playfully, and takes his first steps down a New Path of his own ...
... you snap awake.

Greetings all. Activity has been down on this particular forum, and despite the best efforts of Evern to keep new eyes observing the principles of FIRPing on the RP Forums, there is a reason why the direction you're all heading seems to be uncertain and lonely.
FIRPing isn't about these boards, as noble an effort as it was to build it (thank you, Lyssira). Granted, for excellent roleplaying (which all of you have been doing, by the way) these kinds of forums are exciting, worthwhile and when used effectively, can be a great platform from which to launch many amazing adventures. But ... there is a but.
I don't pretend to tell anyone how to play their game. The reason why this game works is because you can all do what makes you feel most satisfied. For me, I look at this game not as a social agent for meeting other people and talking OOC as much as I have in the past few months, but rather a social agent for meeting other roleplayers IN GAME and maintaining those contacts to the best of my abilities IN CHARACTER. While this disciplinary approach to who I talk to IN GAME limits me from much of the relaxing benefits OOC discussions with people can bring, I've got many friends (several who play WoW) who I can talk with outside of that. My IN GAME experiences are my own form of disciplining myself, and I would never expect as much from those acquaintences I make OOC (like here) ... but I would strongly suggest the practise.
In closing, you can find me within the game. I've already given you the name to seek out, should you so choose, and one way or another, I'll be playing the same storyline my friends and I worked to create here for all of you. Should you wish to be a part of a continued FIRP experience, you'll need to come to me. Should you wish to continue your own FIRP experiences, I happily advocate this Path as well. There are no wrong steps to follow in walking your Paths, no matter which way you choose to go!
Be prepared, those of you who come after me. I don't play the way I've seen many of you play. You may just be bored to tears. You may struggle to find me. Either way, when I log on, I'm usually on for several hours, and when I make plans to be somewhere, I'm usually there.
