Aedrean smiled, two notes lay on the barrel in front of him. The first was addressed to one Nathain Darkstar, the second to one Lyssira Smithford. It was amazing what the bartenders overheard, but Darkstar was still an enigma to them. The one addressed to Darkstar was written in a flowing script and read:
Nathain Darkstar,
I believe that I may have something of interest to you. I would like to meet you in person in the abandoned house at the end of Cut-Throat Alley at 9:30 Saturday night. Come alone.

The one addressed to Lyssira was written in a short spidery hand and read:
Lyssira, I’d like to meet with your source of information about Darkstar, you pick the time and place.

PS: The Darkstar problem is in hand. Tell no one.
Satisfied Aedrean rolled up the parchments, and placed them in the mailbox, then headed to the site he’d chosen just to make sure it would serve. _________________ Watch out, or I'll build a ladder wide enough for the centaurs to get up onto Thunder Bluff, and then beef will be for dinner.
Lyssira examines the message from Aedrean, reading it carefully. Something was not right here. She did not know Darkstar well, but she did not believe that the situation could be taken care of so quickly, or so quietly.
After giving the situation some thought, Lyssira decided on the conservative course, for the moment, she would buy some time and try to find out for herself if Darkstar had indeed been "taken care of".
She composed the following note:
Aedrean,
I would be glad to have you speak to my source of information, but I must tell you, the individual is running a little scared. And who can blame them. I will do my best to convince the individual that their safety is not in question. I am sure they will feel much better if the meeting takes place in public. Perhaps the Pig and Whistle?

Lyssira reread what she had written to make sure it said what she intended. Satisfied, she dropped the message in the mail.

Aedrean smiled wider as he read Lyssira's note, the Pig and Whistle would be perfect. So it was that he pulled out a parchment and pen and began to write in his usual short spidery hand:
Lyssira,
The Pig and Whistle would be perfect, and if your contact desires even more security, you can come. That I never doubted. I am busy at 9:30 Saturday night, does Friday sound good?

Satisfied he placed the parchment in the mailbox, and left for the alley he'd chosen. He'd found the most amazing thing about it; it seemed that gunshots were muffled while inside the alley.
Upon arrival at his training spot, Aedrean's demeanor and mannerisms changed as with the flip of a switch. Gone was the good natured, caring soul that was Aedrean, he was replaced with the cold hearted logical mind known only as X...

Aedrean watched from inside his own mind as X dispatched the targets with ease, he had to learn how to do this before saturday. Or else... Finding a few minutes free, Lyssira gets out the last not she received from Aedrean and reads it once again before responding.

I believe that Friday night would be acceptable, but still, I must check with the involved party. Unless you hear differently from me let's plan to meet on Friday at 9:30

Her next next required a little more thought. How to reassure Bellara that this was not some sort of trap set by Darkstar, or, if it was that it was in a very public place where no evil deed would go without severe punishment.

I wanted to thank you once again for the information you were able to give me when we met.
If it is not too much trouble, another member of the group I bleong to has an interest in meeting you. He has agreed to meet at The Pig and Whistle, where safety should not be a problem. If you consent to this meeting the time of 9:30pm on Friday has been suggested.
Please let me knwo if you can make it. I can meet you there or I can escort you there if you wish. Please let me know your intentions.

Aedrean looked at the note with interest, so friday at 9:30 it was. He looked at the devastated training area, not able to shake the feeling that what he was doing here was wrong. He could feel X gaining strength, and knew that that wasn't good.
